Further trip information

Day 1: Jambo Nairobi! Touch down on Nairobi’s red earth before piling into the safari vans and heading to the Maasai Mara for our first safari drive. We’ll have the chance to see lions, elephants, buffalo and antelope. After an incredible afternoon, enjoy dinner at the lodge with your new mates.

Day 2: Maasai Mara. Take your morning to the next level with an optional hot air balloon ride. Then rejoin the group for a morning game drive. Keep your eyes peeled for cheetahs stalking stealthily, hippos and crocs wallowing, and maybe even the elusive leopard high in the trees. Opt for an optional second game drive this afternoon.

Day 3: Maasai Mara to Nairobi. Wake up to the sounds of the bush before one last spectacular game drive in the Maasai Mara. Then travel back to Nairobi where we’ll visit an organisation in the Kibera Slum that helps local women and children improve their quality of life through education.

Day 4: Nairobi to Amboseli. Take an optional morning game drive in Nairobi National Park (the only National Park in a capital city) before a serious dose of cuteness, as we head to a local elephant orphanage (local payment applies). After a picnic lunch, travel to our lodge on the edge of Amboseli National Park.

Day 5: Amboseli National Park. Take an optional safari walk in a local Maasai village. Then enjoy some lunch before heading into Amboseli. With sweeping plains dotted with elephants, giraffes, and zebras, and Mount Kilimanjaro as a backdrop, you’ll want to have that camera ready!

Day 6: Amboseli to Nairobi. We’ll go out with a bang with one last morning drive in Amboseli National Park before travelling back to the Kenyan capital with hearts, minds, and camera reels full. Better start planning the next trip!

Arrival information

This trip begins and ends in Nairobi, Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta International (NBO) is the nearest airport. We’ll head straight to the Maasai Mara on day 1 so you will need to arrive a day early and book an additional night of pre-trip accommodation. A travel advisor can assist you with this. Arrival airport transfers are not included, so you’ll need to make your own way to our starting hotel. Taxi takes around 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

On day 6 you will be dropped back in Nairobi (either at our hotel or at the airport) at around 3pm. We strongly recommend booking an extra night at the end of your stay and flying out the following day in case of delays.
