Day 1: Bangkok. Welcome to Thailand! Make your way from the airport to your starting accommodation. If you’ve arrived early, why not get straight out into the crazy streets of Bangkok? Meet your guide and group this evening before heading out for dinner and drinks on neon lit Khao San Road.

Day 2: Bangkok to Surat Thani. As well as lots of free time today to enjoy the city, you’ll enjoy a delicious street food crawl with the rest of your group. Visit some temples, get a massage, or take a longtail boat tour through the city’s canals. Tonight, board the sleeper train to Surat Thani.

Day 3: Surat Thani to Khao Sok. Hop off the train in Surat Thani, before travelling to beautiful Khao Sok National Park by bus. On arrival, cool off with an optional river tubing activity, explore the lush green park on foot, or just chill out in a hammock and watch the monkeys!

Day 4: Khao Sok to Koh Samui. Jump on the ferry to Koh Samui. On arrival, you won’t want to waste any time getting down to the beautiful white sand beach. Bronze your bod, play volleyball, or cool off in the turquoise water. As the sun sets, prepare yourself for a big night out.

Day 5: Koh Samui and Ang Thong Marine Park. We’ve got a real treat in store for you today, with a trip to the protected nature reserve of Ang Thong Marine Park. You get to snorkel and hike some of the reserves more than 40 uninhabited islands.

Day 6: Koh Samui to George Town, Penang. Travel by private vehicle to Penang – ‘the jewel of the Orient’. Check into your George Town hotel and go out for some fabulous street food – yum!

Day 7: George Town, Penang. Explore George Town at your own pace today. Discover Little India, check out the views from the top of Penang Hill, or discover the largest Buddhist temple in the country – Kek Lok Si. This evening, sample some of George Town’s energetic nightlife.

Day 8: George Town to Chenderoh Lake Homestay. Travel to the lakeside village of Chenderoh. We’ll be spending a night in a local home. Take a hike, kayak on the lake, or just mellow out. Tonight, we’ll have dinner with the villagers – it’s a really immersive cultural experience.

Day 9: Chenderoh Lake to Cameron Highlands. Travel to the Cameron Highlands. On arrival, we’ll take an orientation walk, before leaving you to explore the stunning mountainous area for yourself. Option to join a rainforest expedition, with waterfalls, tea plantations and blow-pipe demonstration.

Day 10: Cameron Highlands to Kuala Lumpur. We’re off to Malaysia’s glitzy capital today. Visit the famous Petronas Towers, check out the city’s glamorous malls, or head to Central Market for some souvenirs. Tonight, follow your nose to find the best street food for dinner.

Day 11: Kuala Lumpur. Free day in Kuala Lumpur. Climb the rainbow-coloured steps to the Batu Caves, tour the Islamic Arts Museum, or wander through Perdana Botanical Garden. Tonight, grab some more street food before hunting for a bargain in Chinatown’s buzzy night market.

Day 12: Kuala Lumpur to Melaka. Head to the charming port town of Melaka. Explore the historic centre by trishaw, try some Nyonya cuisine, or take a river cruise. Tonight, enjoy some dinner and drinks with your group before getting your haggle on at Jonker Walk Night Market.

Day 13: Melaka to Singapore. Cross the border into Singapore. You’ll have some free time this afternoon. Take a boat tour of the harbour, check out the malls, or discover the Botanic Gardens. Tonight, why not enjoy drinks in a rooftop bar, followed by a visit to one of the city’s amazing clubs?

Day 14: Singapore and Trip End. Pack your bags and say your farewells – your amazing adventure finishes today. Safe travels!

Arrival information

Please arrange your flights to arrive in Bangkok for the first day of your itinerary. There is a welcome meeting on this first evening at around 6pm. The tour ends on day 14 in Singapore, which is where you’ll need to arrange your return flights or onward travel from. You can depart at any time. Airport transfers aren’t included on this tour, so you’ll need to arrange your own transport.

Accommodation & meals

Accommodation

This trip includes 9 nights in simple hotels (twin-share) 2 nights in multi-share hostels, 1 night in basic bungalows and 1 night on a sleeper train. Multi-share hostels are usually single-sex rooms of around 4-6 people. Some of the hotels we stay in are in stunning rural locations and may be different to what you’re used to at home. Rooms can be small and simple and there may be shared shower or toilet facilities. In some major cities in Malaysia and Singapore, rooms may not have windows. Accommodation is on a twin or multi-share basis and rooms are single sex.

Meals

7 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner are included on this trip. You will have to buy the rest of your meals, snacks and drinks yourself. This gives you the best possible opportunity to experience the wide array of wonderful food on offer throughout Asia.

Minimum age & eligibility

The minimum age to join this trip is 18. This trip is designed for travellers aged 18-39.

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum 6 months’ validity).

Thailand - British passport holders arriving by air or land can enter Thailand for 30 days without a visa.  

Malaysia - British passport holders will normally be given permission to stay in Malaysia for 3 months upon arrival.

Singapore - British nationals don’t normally need a visa to enter Singapore for stays of up to 90 days for tourism.

Contact your local embassy, or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements.
