Take a tour of Brisbane, have 4x4 fun on Fraser Island, get your cowboy credentials staying at an outback cattle station and then sail around the wonderful Whitsunday islands on an overnight yacht cruise. Spend two days lazing about on idyllic Magnetic Island before enjoying Australia’s adventure capital, Cairns. 14-Day Sun, Sea, Sail & Surf Tour
Climb aboard your comfortable, air-conditioned coach and head down the sparkling east coast of Oz. Your coach has USB power sockets and free on-board WiFi so you can keep in touch with all your mates at home and make them jealous about your incredible adventure! As you roll into each stunning destination you can watch on board movies, play cards with your fellow travellers, or just sit back and get some kip! Bring it on Australia!
This trip also runs in reverse from Cairns to Sydney.
Day 1: Crescent Head: Kick off with an early start from Sydney to the Crescent Head surf camp, and enjoy an included surf lesson!
Day 2: Crescent Head & Byron Bay: Tuck into lunch Aussie-style with a BBQ at surf camp, before hitting the road north to Byron Bay.
Day 3: Byron Bay: Live the laid-back life in Byron, or sample an amazing range of optional activities, including surfing, scuba or sky-diving, hang-gliding, and sea kayaking.
Day 4: Surfer’s Paradise & Brisbane: Head off the beaten track with a rainforest walk, en route to Surfer’s Paradise on the idyllic Gold Coast. Night time brings a free orientation tour, and night out in Brisbane; welcome to Queensland!
Day 5: Noosa & Fraser Island: Enjoy a final taste of the mainland before going island-side! Hop over the Straight to Fraser Island for a first night in an incredible beachside resort.
Day 6: Fraser Island: Adjust to ‘island time’ with an unforgettable day in the dunes! Take a guided 4x4 trip around some of Fraser’s best spots, including the Maheno Shipwreck, Eli Creek, and the blissful blue waters of Lake McKenzie!
Day 7: Outback Farmstay: Head outback into the bush to a family-run cattle station at Myella Farm. An evening of outback activities awaits, as do an Aussie sunset, and the stunning southern stars after dark!
Day 8: Outback Farmstay: Enjoy optional activities and a real slice of ranch life, from milking cows, to learning to lasso! The farm is also home to orphaned kangaroos, so you might just spend your morning cuddling a joey!
Day 9: Airlie Beach & Whitsunday Islands: Head back to the coast and hop onboard a private yacht for a once-in-a-lifetime sailing experience that includes an exclusive overnight stay!
Day 10: Whitsunday Islands: Learn the ropes onboard a real sailing boat, or simply kick back in the sun above-deck! Visit the stunning Whitehaven Beach, and snorkel in the shallows for a glimpse of marine life. Keep an eye out for turtles!
Day 11: Magnetic Island: After a night in the backpacker’s paradise of Airlie Beach, head island-side again for an array of amazing activities on ‘Maggie’ ! Get involved in a wildlife tour, or soak up the sun!
Day 12: Magnetic Island & Cairns: Arrive at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef in time for shopping at the Night Markets, or to sample the awesome nightlife!
Day 13: Cairns: Pack as much as you can into a free day in Australia’s adventure capital! There’s no better spot for a skydive, or to scale the white water rapids of the Tully River, zipline over the Aussie countryside, bungee jump in the rainforest, or try your hand at horses or quad bikes!
Day 14: Cairns: Make your last day in Cairns count! Find time for any extra activities you missed out on, and plan your onward travel; who says you have to go home straight away...?!
Why not complete the adventure with a day trip to the Great Barrier Reef? See Australia’s magnificent natural wonder and get up close to fish and coral with this fantastic add-on experience!
Climb aboard a private catamaran and cruise over to the idyllic bird sanctuary of Michaelmas Cay National Park. Sea turtles, bat fish, and reef sharks all swim around this gorgeous white-sand island, and you’ll be able to snorkel and dive straight from the shore into the clear waters. Then head over to an exclusive section of the reef for some perfect, undisturbed snorkelling. Round off the experience by tucking into a tasty lunch of seafood and tropical fruit – all prepared by the onboard chef! Luxury!
Tours depart at 8am and return to Cairns at around 5pm.

This 14-day tour starts in Sydney and you will need to arrange your own travel into Sydney for the start of the tour. An airport transfer is not included.
As the tour begins early on day 1, you are advised to travel into Sydney on the previous day. As this trip does not spend any scheduled time in Sydney itself, if you want to explore this lively city you may want to spend an extra day or two in the city before the tour begins. We can help you to arrange any extra nights’ accommodation if you wish to do this, please contact us for more details.
Please note that the tour ends in Cairns and you will need to arrange your own onward travel from there.
14-day Sun, Sea, Sail & Surf Tour
13 nights’ accommodation is included as part of this East Coast tour. You have 12 nights’ multi-share accommodation in hotels, lodges and cabins, which includes a stay in an amazing wilderness lodge in a eucalyptus forest on Fraser Island, and a stay in comfortable, air-conditioned rooms at an outback cattle station. You will also spend 1 night on a live-aboard sailing boat in the wonderful Whitsunday Islands! Accommodation is single-sex and is usually based on four-sharing. You can upgrade to a twin or double room if you request this at the time of booking (extra cost). As the tour begins early on day 1, you are advised to travel into Sydney on the previous day. As the tour ends in Cairns on the evening on day 14, you may also wish to book an extra night in Cairns. Pre or post-tour accommodation is not included, but we can help you to arrange any extra nights’ accommodation if needed (extra cost) -- please contact us for more details!
13 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 6 dinners are included on this trip. Breakfasts are included each day (except on the first morning), and will typically consist of cereals, bread, spreads, fruit juice, tea or coffee. Evening meals will either be prepared by your travel team or will be provided in local restaurants or at your accommodation. We always try to accommodate all dietary needs whenever possible; please let us know if you have any dietary requirements at the time of booking!
Add On: Cairns Adventure Package
6 nights' accommodation is included in the Cairns Adventure Package, in shared-dorm accommodation in a Cairns hostel. Located on the Esplanade, the hostel is in the heart of Cairns, opposite its famous lagoon. It offers clean and comfortable accommodation with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Here you’ll be staying in dorms sleeping up to 8 people. Facilities include:

Most meals are not included in the programme, so you should bring money for food and extras. You get a BBQ lunch included as part of the white water rafting package, and the opportunity to purchase breakfast at your own cost before you head down river. You get a picnic lunch included on your sea kayaking day. On the balloon flight day, no food is included, but you will have morning tea and a buffet-style lunch included at the Great Barrier Reef.
Minimum age for taking part in this tour is 18 years. All visitors to Australia (excepting those from New Zealand) will require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter. If you plan on working in Australia whilst you’re there, you’ll need a Working Holiday Visa. Both visas can be applied for online, and both must be applied for before departure to Australia. You must be a confident swimmer to take part in any water-based activities. If you wish to take up the optional introductory or certified scuba diving on day 4 of the Cairns Adventure Package, you will have to successfully complete a medical questionnaire before diving. If you have any pre-existing health conditions please speak to our travel team before you go.
