Day 1: Rome - Goodbye home, hello Rome! Stroll through the historical cobblestone streets of Rome and enjoy some delicious gelato. Then meet your group and trip leader at a welcome meeting this evening.

Day 2: Pisa - Journey to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa and take some creative Instagram photos as you expore the fascinating landmark. Jump onboard a train and enjoy the Italian views en route to the gorgeous Italian Riviera coastline.

Day 3: Cinque Terre - Cross through vineyards, orchards and olive groves on an exciting full-days hike on the coastal path between Riomaggiore and Monterosso, or opt catch the train along the route, and enjoy stunning views of the Italian Rivera!

Day 4: Monaco - Wander past glamorous casinos and cobblestone streets as you make your way to the glittering Mediterranean Sea. People watch and admire the stunning views of the yachts in the harbour, before heading onwards to the city of Nice.

Day 5: Nice - Have a free day to explore Nice. Opt to embark on a fun cycling tour, wander down the Promenade de Anglais along the seafront, or go for a refreshing trek along the coastline. Take a day trip to St Paul de Vence filled with cobblestone streets and panoramic views of the beautiful French countryside.

Day 6: Barcelona - Enjoy a tapas cooking experience at local Catalonian kitchen served up by students. Then wander through the intricate dark alleyways of the old Gothic Quarter, the medieval bars and buildings, and see the iconic Barcelona cathedral.

Day 7: Barcelona - Your Mediterranean adventure comes to an end this morning! Have extra time to explore the incredible city of Barcelona, or head home at any time.

Arrival information

You should arrive on day 1 to Rome, Italy in time for the welcome meeting at 6pm. Airport transfers are not included so you will need to make your own way to your accommodation which is easy to do by public transport.

On day 7, depart at any time from Barcelona Airport in Spain. If you wish to extend your stay and travel elsewhere, your trip leader can help you with any onward travel arrangements.  

Accommodation & meals

You will be staying for 6 nights in single-sex multi-share hostels as you travel from Rome to Barcelona. The average room size is 2-6 travellers.

There are no meals included on this trip - all meals, snacks and drinks will need to be purchased yourself. Your trip guide can recommend the best places to eat out if you wish to do so.

Minimum age & eligibility

The minimum age for this trip is 18 years old and is designed for 18-39 year olds in mind.

UK citizens can travel to countries in the European Schengen area for up to 90 days in any 180-day period without a visa. Visits to Schengen countries within the previous 180 days before you travel count towards your 90 days. Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months after your trip.
