Further trip information

Days 1: Vancouver

Vancouver is a great place to chill out and relax in, with loads to see and do, so it's well worth arriving nice and early to spend some time exploring the area on your first day. In the evening you'll meet up with the rest of your group and tour leader at a welcome meeting.

Day 2: Revelstoke

Get a taste for the adventure ahead as you drive through the spectacular rocky scenery on the banks of the Columbia River. Rest up in your hotel after taking a look around the town or trying out a few activities during the day. Breakfast included.

Days 3-4: Banff National Park

Spend the next couple of days in Canada's oldest and most well-known national park, Banff. Go hiking along one of the park's 1,600 trails, head to Bow Falls, and try out a whole host of optional activities, from horse riding to taking a flight over the glaciers. Two breakfasts included.

Day 5: Lake Louise

Spend the day hiking the trails around beautiful Lake Louise – the Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House is one of the best to try out. Make sure you fit in a canoeing session too, there's nowhere more incredible to paddle through than the waters of Lake Louise. Breakfast included.

Day 6: Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park

We'll drive through the breathtaking Icefields Parkway, cruising along one of Alberta's most beautiful road routes on our way to Jasper National Park where you will have the opportunity to go rafting. Breakfast included.

Day 7: Jasper National Park

Hike or bike your way through Jasper National Park, take a refreshing dip in the local lakes, or go wildlife spotting in the mountains. Later on you'll have the option of getting dressed up in a traditional 1940s swimsuit and bathing in the hot mountain springs. Breakfast included.

Day 8: Kamloops

On our way to Kamloops, we'll stop off at a viewing point to see Mount Robson, the highest mountain peak in the Canadian Rockies – make sure you take plenty of photos! We'll have a pretty chilled out evening tonight, to conserve our energy for the adventure to come. Breakfast included.

Days 9-10: Whistler

If you're in Whistler during snow season, then try out the skiing and snowboarding activities on offer, but otherwise, check out the hiking trails and mountain biking scene, go on a chairlift or gondola ride to the top of Blackcomb Mountain, or whizz through the mountains on the world's longest zip line. Two breakfasts included.

Day 11: Vancouver

Back in Vancouver, it's time to say goodbye as our tour ends. We'll be back in the city by around 5pm, so it's worth booking an extra night's accommodation – we can help with this, just ask when you call to book. If you're flying home today, please make sure your return flight isn't due for departure until after 9pm. Breakfast included.

Free Time

This trip gives you plenty of opportunity to explore and discover the great Canadian countryside in your own time, which is fantastic for more independent travellers. We'll take you to some of Canada's most exciting adventure destinations and your trusty tour guide will be able to suggest things to do in each as well as help you arrange them if you like, otherwise you're completely free to choose how you spend your time outside of any planned activities.

Your transport to and from each destination on the itinerary is included in the cost of your trip. You'll also have a free shuttle service to take you from Vancouver airport to your hotel. Any transport required in your own time or outside of the scheduled itinerary will be at your own cost and will need to be paid for locally.

Arrival information

You should arrange your arrival into Vancouver International Airport in Canada on day 1. There are no activities scheduled for day 1, but please arrive in time for a welcome meeting at your hotel in the early evening (usually around 6pm). Your accommodation in Vancouver offers a free shuttle service from the airport. On arrival, please use your complementary phone call to contact the hotel to check when the next transfer is due and where to board. This service is free of charge, but do note that it is usual to pay a tip of CAD1-2.

Please note: The last day of your trip ends in Vancouver at approximately 5pm. We recommend you book an extra night's accommodation in Vancouver for the last day of your trip and arrange return flights for the following day. If you would like to fly home on the last day of your trip rather than stay an extra night, please ensure your flight's departure is not before 9pm. Please speak to a travel advisor for more details.

Accommodation & meals

You'll be staying in a variety of hotels and lodges on this trip. All of which will be clean and comfortable and in great locations. Rooms are made up of single sex twin shares and, if you let us know at the time of booking, we will make sure friends or couples travelling together end up sharing the same room.

Other than breakfast each morning, meals aren't provided during this trip. Instead, you'll get to try out the local cuisine – which is delicious, so try out as much as you can. You'll find plenty of familiar western dishes, but do try the fresh fish and smoked meat Canada is so well-known for as well as other local delicacies and unusual food on offer – it's all part of the travel experience

Minimum age & eligibility

You will need to be 18 in order to join this tour. A reasonable level of fitness is required if you wish to take part in hikes and other physical activities.

It is compulsory for all British nationals who travel into Canada by air to obtain an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) before they travel. Applications can be made online for a cost of CAD7.

Most eTA applications are approved within a few minutes or hours of submission, although we recommend you apply well in advance in case of any unexpected delays in the process. Visa rules and regulations are subject to change. Please check the relevant embassy websites for the most up to date visa information.

Physical Rating: Average. Some activities on this trip will require a moderate level of fitness.

Covid safety

This trip is designed with your safety and wellbeing in mind. As a result of Covid-19, many of our suppliers and partners around the world are introducing new policies and procedures surrounding health and safety in response to the Coronavirus outbreak. As the state of travel is evolving these new safety measures will adapt over time, and will be different for each trip. Here are some of the changes you may see on your trip:

Arrival safety meetings
Most trips have an arrival meeting on the first day where the guide or local team will run through the trip, the safety protocols, and to answer any questions you may have. Now more than ever it is important you arrive in time for these meetings.

Updated hygiene and safety procedures
Our suppliers and partners have health and safety procedures in place on all of our trips. These protocols will be updated and adapted as a response to the Coronavirus outbreak, dependent on local restrictions and laws.

Transport and accommodation choices
Our suppliers and partners choose the accommodation and transport on our trips very carefully, and you may see a change to what would normally be used as a response to the outbreak. This may involve such changes as enhanced use of private transport or quieter accommodation.

Trained and knowledgeable staff
Our staff in the UK are trained to help you with your trip before you depart and answer any questions you may have. In addition, the local team and guides on our trips are there to help with any health and safety concerns and to ensure our trips run safely and smoothly.

Reduced group sizes
Some trips will run with reduced group sizes to start with. You may find that trips are more intimate and chilled, whilst still being packed with fun and adventure.

Your guide or the local team will be on hand to help you seek medical attention should you require it during your trip. As medical facilities and standards can vary around the world, you should ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place before you depart to cover you for any medical emergencies.

24/7 emergency support
We operate an emergency phone line for our travellers abroad. This is operated by a UK based member of staff 24/7 if you have a genuine emergency or urgent matter that you need attending.

It is important that you take measures to make travelling safer for yourself and others around you. Ensure you frequently wash your hands, cover your face when you sneeze and cough, bring and use your own hand sanitiser and facial coverings/masks, and enable social distancing where necessary. You should also ensure you listen to the instructions and guidance of the local team at all times, and follow all local laws and restrictions.
