Arrival information

You will need to arrange your arrival into Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, in time for an early evening briefing meeting at your hotel. Airport transfers are not included.

Please note, we can arrange an airport transfer for you when you arrive. Please contact a Travel Advisor for more information.

The airport is located around 7km from downtown Kathmandu and you will need to take a taxi. A prepaid taxi can be booked through the counter outside the airport’s baggage hall, which is run by the Airport Queue Taxi Service Management Committee for about 500 NPR (approx £3.50). Please avoid offers from people wanting to help you with your bags at the airport as they will ask for money once you get to your taxi.

Accommodation & meals

14 nights’ shared accommodation are included as part of this trekking adventure, 12 nights in teahouse lodges and the remainging 2 nights in hotels.

While on the trek route you will stay in teahouses. Teahouses are small, cosy yet remote establishments run by local Nepalese living in the mountains to cater for trekkers. They are a combination of guesthouse, restaurant and social space and offer all you’ll need after a hard day’s trekking.

No meals are included on this trip. The teahouses you will be staying at along the route offer simple, filling and delicious meals to keep your energy up for the trek. Breakfasts and dinners will usually be eaten in the Teahouse and typical Nepali food includes Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), vegetables, noodles, potatoes and soup and some serve a local take on pizza, pasta and French fries. Lunches will be eaten at one of the trail side restaurants.

Soft drinks, snacks and beer are available along the route and in the Teahouses and Nepali milk tea is served everywhere. All tea houses offer boiled water for trekkers to top up their own water bottles. We discourage the purchase of bottled water while on the trail as plastic bottles have become an environmental problem in Nepal.

Minimum age & eligibility

The minimum age to take part in this trekking adventure is 18.

Please note: As this trip includes serious high-altitude treks and heavy exercise you will need to have a high level of physical fitness in order to take part.

Visitors from the UK will require a visa to enter Nepal. Visas are obtainable from embassies abroad or on arrival at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan airport. It’s your responsibility to obtain the necessary visas for your time away. Visa rules are subject to change without prior notice, so please do check visa requirements at the time of your trip.
