Enjoy four awesome adventure experiences in one perfect package. Get your pulse pumping as you take a rapid ride on the Tully River with a day of white water rafting; explore stunning rainforests and hidden waterfalls in the Atherton Tablelands; blow your mind on a soaring balloon flight above the Atherton Tablelands and snorkel in an underwater world at the gorgeous Great Barrier Reef.

All activities kick-off in Cairns and are run separately as individual events, so you will be meeting new people at each stage of your adventures rather than sticking with the same group. Because of this the order of activities is subject to change and the itinerary is for guidance only. 

You'll also get 6 nights in a chilled-out Cairns hostel included - giving you 2 extra days to soak up the fun-filled atmosphere of Cairns!

Day 1: Arrive in Cairns

Arrive into Cairns, the adventure capital of Australia at any time today! You'll be able to jump on a shuttle bus and get transferred to your accommodation (if you arrive between 8am and 8pm). Have the rest of the day to relax by the pool, or explore the city!

Day 2: Full day white water rafting on the Tully River

Depart from Cairns at 6.30am, and spend the day white water rafting down the wild Tully River, taking in epic views of the surrounding rainforest. Return transfers, training and rafting equipment, BBQ lunch included.  Local payment supplement for rafting.

Day 3: Waterfall and Rainforest Tour

Head out today on an incredible tour of the tropical Atherton Tablelands. Depart Cairns at 7:30am, and spend the day exploring the stunning rainforest, beautiful waterfalls and swimming holes, and keep an eye out for unique wildlife, including platypus’!

Day 4: Balloon flight

Early start for 30-minute hot air balloon flight over the spectacular Atherton Tablelands. Watch the sunrise over the stretching forests of the Tablelands and get a new perspective of Cairns! Bus transfer back to Cairns for some free time. Local payment for Civil Aviation levy.

Day 5: Full day snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef

An 8.15am start from Reef Fleet Terminal, where you’ll board catamaran for a full day's snorkelling and diving at exclusive reef sites, including up to 3 dives for qualified scuba divers and snorkelling tours of the reef (diving at extra cost). Keep an eye out for incredible marine life, including turtles! Morning tea and buffet lunch included. AUD10 for return bus transfer.

Please note: As all activities are run as separate, independent events this itinerary is subject to change and the order of activities may vary. Please be aware that in the event of bad weather conditions activities may be disrupted. 

Day 6: Free time in Cairns

Have the day to relax after your adventures! There's loads to see and do in the city, so you'll have plenty to chosse from. From taking a day trip to the Daintree Rainforest, wandering through the city's colourful botanical gardens to taking a helicopter ride over the city, you'll be spolit for choice!

Day 7: Trip End

Your Cairns Adventure comes to end today! You can leave at any time, and the accommodation reception will help you arrange a transfer back to Cairns Airport if needed!

Arrival information

If you arrive in Cairns Airport (CNS) you will get a free transfer from the airport to your hostel between the hours of 8am and 8pm. This transfer will be on a shuttle bus which departs every 30 minutes.

If you arrive outside these hours, or have not booked the accommodation option, you will ned to arrange your own transfer. This is easily done. When you arrive at Cairns Airport, go to the Transfers Desk and tell them which hostel you're staying at, and you can jump on a transfer and be dropped off at your accommodation. This transfer costs about £5.

Accommodation & meals

You will have six nights of accommodation included. This accommodation is in a great city hostel that is popular among young backpackers.

Most meals are not included in the programme, so you should bring money for food and extras. On day 1, you get a BBQ lunch included as part of the white water rafting package, and the opportunity to purchase breakfast at your own cost before you head down river. On day 2, you will have lunch included as part of the Atherton Tablelands tour. On day 3, the balloon flight day, no food is included, but on day 4 you will have morning tea and a buffet-style lunch included at the Great Barrier Reef.

Minimum age & eligibility

For this trip there is a minimum age requirement of 18, and all visitors to Australia (excepting those from New Zealand) will require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter. These must be applied for before departure, and if you’re planning on working in Australia whilst you’re out here, you’ll need a Working Holiday Visa. If you are just heading to Australia for fun however, an ETA should suffice. Both visas can be applied for online.

You must be able to swim and be confident in the water to take part in these water-based activities. If you wish to take up the optional introductory or certified scuba diving on day 4 you will have to successfully complete a medical questionnaire before diving. Rafting and ballooning is not recommended for pregnant women. If you have any pre-existing health conditions please speak to our travel team before you go.
